Le mascherine!

Hello everyone!

This week at Ciao we started preparations for our big Carnevale event in two weeks by making masks! There are a ton of pictures and many beautiful masks made by our members, But real quick, what is Carnevale?

Carnevale is a Mardi Gras event that happens in Venice. Similar to Mardi Gras in the U.S., it is a celebration on Fat Tuesday to prepare for the upcoming Lent and Easter holiday. It involves many colors, costumes, and specifically masks!

Our celebration for Carnevale will be on Feb. 27 at Casa from 10-2am. 21 and over get in free and under pays only a $2 cover. Our DJ for the evening will be the ever so talented DJ Anlog . The proceeds will go to benefit the victims of the L'Aquila earthquake that hit Italy in April 2009.

As always, Ciao Club is held on Thursdays at 7pm in Baker 233. Stop by to learn about Italian Culture or email ouciaoclub@gmail.com for more information!

Una notte della pizza!

Hello everyone,

Apologies for the late post, this past week has been heavy with finals and work and such, so much so that Ciao didn't have a meeting. However, we have been busy with planning for Carnevale and also preparing for upcoming meetings. We hope midterms are going well/went well and we hope to see you this Thursday in Baker 233 at 7pm.

Here are some pictures from pizza night!

Thanks to Avalanche Pizza for the delicious food!
